The challenge
Hillside Preschool, based in St George in Bristol, aims to deliver individualised learning, development and care, giving all its children the best possible start in life.
Bev, the manager at Hillside Preschool was looking to give the school an online presence in order to help new parents and carers find out about what the preschool could offer their families. She also wanted to keep existing parents up-to-date with daily activities, school developments and events.
The solution
A responsive (for mobile, tablets and desktops) preschool website design that clearly communicated the schools vision and reflected its culture and environment. The website also provides practical information to help new and existing parents, carers and other stakeholders find out more about the services provided by the school.
Features of the site include:
A filterable timetable of what the children will be doing each day and at what time.
A blog for school updates, events and newsletters.
A photo gallery, where pictures of what the children are up to can be shared with parents and carers.

WordPress was selected as it is a very user-friendly content management system (CMS) so Bev can easily add content to the preschool blog over the coming weeks and months. The school also set up a Facebook page and ensured they were listed on Google maps which will help more people to find their website.
All copy was written to enable users to easily find the information they were looking for and also optimised for Google in order to maximise the possibility of prospective parents finding ‘Hillside Preschool in Bristol’ through a Google search.
